April 28th Day of Mourning

April 28th every year,is the day that has been set as
the National Day of Mourning, or Workers' Mourning Day
it is observed across Canada. It commemorates workers who have been
killed, injured or suffered illness
due to workplace related hazards and occupational exposures.

The Guelph Labour Council
Held an event on ZOOM,
as many organizers of Day of Mourning have done.

This event was hosted by the Guelph & Labour District labour Council.
The event started with a march through the downtown of Guelph
The march ended at park where several speechs were given.
At the end of the ceremony, a flower laying was done,
to remember those who have died as a reuslt of their work.
